Sensorial Investigation of Orphaned

2023

installationArtist | Exhibited at Harvard University

This installation aims to create a multi-sensory experience, enhancing the emotional durability of clothing and encouraging circular and closed-loop systems for textile production and consumption. The installation utilizes object recognition to identify clothes and project collective and personal memories into a 6x6 space constructed using discarded garments. Through sensory interactions involving vision, hearing, touch, taste, and smell, the installation forms a coherent perception of the environment, resulting in a sensory documentation process for recording and tracking these experiences. The excavation of clothes reveals memories of their creation and the lived lives of the individuals associated with them. By engaging the senses, the project aims to evoke emotional responses, fostering a deeper appreciation for the value and emotional significance of orphaned clothes.
