We The People
2018Episode 4 - Hum Le Ke Rahenge
film • Producer and Executive Producer
An ethnographic film about individuals who protested indefinitely at Jantar Mantar Road. The film questions the socio-political reality of India vis-à-vis the ideals the nation was set out with.
In October 2017, the National Green Tribunal (NGT) banned all protest activities at Jantar Mantar, citing noise pollution as the major reason. Protesters, activists, and intellectuals saw it as a nail in the coffin of democracy.
The film challenges mainstream imagination by exploring dissent through stories of commoners who back themselves with their firm belief in Indian democracy and its constitutional promise of a dignified life.
