Girls is a sci-fi film from the MIT Media Lab that tells the story of two eight-year-old girls determined to maintain their friendship in a bleak future in the year 2050. Entirely crafted through synthetic means, the project pushed the boundaries of cinematic creation. Every frame was meticulously crafted, leveraging generative algorithms and computer graphics to create realistic virtual environments and generate entire scenes and characters.
The project involved meticulous world-building and the exploration of new frontiers in art and technology, the power of generative algorithms, and the boundless potential of synthetic storytelling. It is an exploration into the next frontiers of synthetic creation in visual storytelling.
